Financial Indicators

UK Investment news

  • Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 0.8% in the third quarter of 2010, unrevised from the previous estimate. GDP in the third quarter of 2010 is now 2.8% higher than the third quarter of 2009.
  • CPI annual inflation was 3.2% in October 2010, up from 3.1% in September.
  • Year on year, the volume of retail sales in October was 0.1% lower than in October 2009.

  • Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased 0.8% in the third quarter of 2010, compared with an increase of 1.2% in the previous quarter.
  • CPI annual inflation was 3.1% in September 2010, unchanged from August.

UK Investment news

  • GDP increased by 1.2% in the second quarter of 2010, unrevised from previously published. GDP in the second quarter of 2010 is now 1.7% higher than the second quarter of 2009.
  • CPI annual inflation was 3.1% in August 2010, unchanged from July. In the year to August, RPI annual inflation was 4.7%, down from 4.8% in July.
  • Year on year, overall production output in August 2010 was 4.2% higher than in August 2009.

London Investment news

  • London’s annual growth in output increased to –0.4% in Q1 2010 from a downwardly revised -2.7% in Q4 2009.
  • London’s annual employment growth increased to -1.7% in Q1 2010 from -2.4% in Q4 2009.
  • Annual house price inflation in London increased to 16.2% in Q2 2010, from 12.4% in Q1 2010

USA Investment news

  • Real gross domestic product (GDP) grew at an annual rate of 1.7% in the second quarter of 2010.  This follows a growth rate of 3.7% in the first quarter.
  • Personal income increased $30.0 billion, or 0.2%, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $17.6 billion, or 0.2%, in July 2010.  Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $44.1 billion, or 0.4%.
  • The U.S. current-account deficit increased to $123.3 billion, or 3.4% of GDP in the second quarter of 2010, up from $109.2 billion in the first quarter of 2010, or 3.0% of GDP.

UK Investment news

  • GDP increased by 1.2% in the second quarter of 2010, revised up from 1.1%. GDP in the second quarter of 2010 is now 1.7% higher than the second quarter of 2009.
  • CPI annual inflation was 3.1% in July, down from 3.2% in June.
  • Output price annual inflation for all manufactured products rose 4.7% in August 2010.

LONDON Investment news

  • London’s annual growth in output increased to –0.4% in Q1 2010 from a downwardly revised -2.7% in Q4 2009.
  • London’s annual employment growth increased to -1.7% in Q1 2010 from -2.4% in Q4 2009.
  • The percentage of the resident working age population who are unemployed and claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance in London was 4.0% in July 2010. There were 213,200 unemployment claimants in London in July 2010 compared with an upwardly revised 213,800 in June.

US Investment news

  • Real gross domestic product (GDP) grew at an annual rate of 1.6% in the second quarter of 2010.  This follows a growth rate of 3.7% in the first quarter.
  • Personal income increased $30.0 billion, or 0.2%, and disposable personal income (DPI) increased $17.6 billion, or 0.2%, in July 2010 Personal consumption expenditures (PCE) increased $44.1 billion, or 0.4%.
  • The U.S. current account deficit increased to $109.0 billion, or 3.0% of GDP in the first quarter of 2010, up from $100.9 billion in the fourth quarter of 2009, or 2.8% of GDP. (more…)
